News 24. October 2024

The international organization United Nations was founded with the goal of maintaining global peace and security, addressing economic, social, and political issues through international cooperation, and promoting respect for human rights.

On October 24, 1945, the UN Charter, ratified by 51 founding members, came into force, officially marking the start of the UN’s work.

The Sustainable Development Agenda was adopted by the UN for the period from 2015 to 2030, and it is based on 17 sustainable development goals, which can be summarized into 5 key areas of action: for people, for the planet, for prosperity, for peace, and for partnership.

The National Foundation, as part of its operational and strategic activities, places significant emphasis on respecting and implementing the UN’s sustainable development goals, which it promotes, among other ways, through the sCOOLFOOD program. This program educates children and young people on the connection between food sustainability and the environment, covering aspects such as nutrition, agriculture, energy, lifestyles, and waste reduction.
