The National Foundation for Civil Society Development has opened an Open Call for Participation in the Extracurricular Activity “Adopting Sustainable Habits” within the “Let’s Do Good with a Heartprint” Program intended for third-grade primary school students.
The extracurricular activity “Adopting Sustainable Habits” is based on the international sCOOLFOOD programme, implemented since 2016 by the Monte dei Paschi di Siena Foundation in Italy, and focused on educating children and young people about the connection between food and environmental sustainability with nutrition, agriculture, energy, lifestyles, and waste reduction, all in line with the global Sustainable Development Goals and the UN 2030 Agenda.
Since the beginning of 2023, the National Foundation has been implementing the Croatian version of the sCOOLFOOD module within the “Let’s Do Good with a Heartprint” Program. Based on the successful implementation so far and the positive experiences of participating schools and participants, the Program was further improved during 2025 in cooperation with the National Foundation’s Expert Advisory Committee. In October 2025, the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth issued a positive opinion regarding the inclusion of the “Adopting Sustainable Habits” extracurricular activity Program in third grades of primary schools.
The Program is intended for third-grade primary school students in the 2026/2027 school year and will be implemented throughout the entire school year. Up to two classes or groups, together with their respective representative, may participate. All interested representatives of primary schools are hereby invited to complete the APPLICATION FORM no later than 15 June 2026 to express their interest in participating in the extracurricular activity “Adopting Sustainable Habits”.
Based on the data collected through the completed forms, the National Foundation will assess and select schools to be included in the Program. Priority in the selection process will be given to primary schools that have not previously participated in the Croatian version of the sCOOLFOOD module within the “Let’s Do Good with a Heartprint” Program, and which have already implemented activities related to sustainable development.
