On September 2 and 3, 2026, a training and implementation workshop was held at the Trokut Centre for New Technologies and Entrepreneurship in Šibenik for organisations that were approved for support under the Call for Expressions of Interest for cooperation with the National Foundation for Civil Society Development in developing social entrepreneurship initiatives and social innovations.

The two-day training was attended by representatives of nine organisations leading the approved initiatives and their partners. The programme focused on presenting and further developing the approved initiatives, as well as on practical aspects of their implementation and reporting.

The Call for Expressions of Interest is implemented as part of the Croatian Centre for Support to Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship and is aimed at developing and implementing social entrepreneurship initiatives and social innovations that contribute to addressing identified challenges in local communities. The approved initiatives promote the development of sustainable and innovative solutions, the involvement of different stakeholders, and strengthening organisations’ capacities to develop models of action that create social impact.

The training programme began with an introductory address by Cvjetana Plavša-Matić, Managing Director of the National Foundation for Civil Society Development, who reflected on the National Foundation’s activities to date in the field of social entrepreneurship and social innovation, as well as opportunities for further development of this area through support to organisations and the cooperation of different stakeholders.

This was followed by a presentation by Marija Boltek, Deputy Managing Director of the National Foundation for Development Programmes, who presented the objectives of the Call and the expected results of implementing social entrepreneurship initiatives and social innovations. Representatives of the supported organisations then presented their initiatives, planned activities, expected results and their contribution to the development of local communities.

The first day of the training also provided an opportunity to discuss possibilities for further developing the approved initiatives, strengthening their cooperation and networking, and increasing their impact in local communities.

The second day was dedicated to an implementation workshop and practical aspects of carrying out the approved initiatives. Participants were introduced to the operational implementation of activities in accordance with the approved plans, obligations related to narrative and financial reporting, documentation of implemented activities and expenditures, visibility of activities, and reporting through the financijskopodrske.hr system.

A special part of the workshop focused on specific questions raised by beneficiaries and potential challenges in implementation, giving participants an opportunity to further clarify implementation and reporting requirements.
