ALF - Euro-Mediterranean

                                                   

The Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for Intercultural Dialogue "Anna Lindh" is dedicated to the promotion of intercultural dialogue in the Euro-Mediterranean region. It acts as a network of national networks, bringing together civil society organizations, public institutions and similar organizations from different fields of activity. Headquartered in Alexandria, Egypt, ALF is present in 42 member states of the Barcelona Process: Union for the Mediterranean.

ALF's partners are the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Council of Europe, the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) and the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO). and Libya and Sudan as observers.

The goal of ALF is to enable dialogue between cultures and develop sustainable projects and programs that will contribute to a better understanding of cultural and political processes that shape opinion and behavior, and improve the activities of institutions and civil society in support of dialogue.

The Croatian Network for Euro-Mediterranean Cooperation promotes dialogue, knowledge and diversity among the cultures of the Euro-Mediterranean region by developing tolerance and openness towards new knowledge, religions, cultures and values. The Croatian network also advocates for the promotion and protection of human rights and basic freedoms. The National Foundation for the Development of Civil Society, in accordance with the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, at the founding meeting in January 2009, was elected as the national coordinator of the Croatian Network for Cooperation in the Euro-Mediterranean, which in its first year of operation was included in the work of the Foundation "Anna Lindh" (ALF). This made the National Foundation the official representative of ALF in the Republic of Croatia.

The National Foundation, in the role of coordinator of the Croatian Network, manages the national network, provides members and the general public with information about ALF's activities and tenders, facilitates finding project partners and project applications, ensures promotion of activities, organizes coordination meetings for members of the Croatian Network, maintains daily communication with the ALF Secretariat, contributes to the development of annual and three-year ALF programs, etc. Interest and a large number of new members in the first few months of its existence ranked the Croatian network among the fastest growing new national networks of the "Anna Lindh" Foundation.
